The Third Annual LBI International KiteFest was Bigger and Better than the first two LBI KiteFests Combined. Robert Brasington, the top kite maker in the world from Tasmania, said the LBI International KiteFest on Saturday was "The Biggest Kite Festival He Has Seen In The United States in 25 years."
People after seeing Giant Kites 30 feet to 100 feet long were saying"This Is The Best Thing That's Ever Happened To Long Beach Island."

WOW - It Was Huge! It Was Exciting! It was a Spectacular Family Event!
The Third Annual LBI International KiteFest was Bigger and Better than the first two LBI KiteFests Combined. Robert Brasington, the top kite maker in the world from Tasmania, said the LBI International KiteFest on Saturday was "The Biggest Kite Festival He Has Seen In The United States in 25 years." Thank The Sandpaper for the Great Publicity and Thank God for the Great Weekend Weather!
A Giant Thank You goes out to Lisa Willoughby (Lives In Surf City) who tirelessly works to help her love of Long Beach Island see and experience the tremendous happineess and joy this KiteFest brought to Long Beach Island. In a world full of tragic hurricanes, earthquakes, wars, death, etc. the 3rd Annual LBI International KiteFest MADE EVERYONE SMILE AND BE HAPPY.
I also Thank the kiters for putting on the amazing "Night Fly" Sunday night at the Barnegat Lighthouse. You just have to see this Spectaclar "Night Fly" with All the kites individually lighted up in the sky flying around Barnegat Lighthouse.
A Special Thank You goes out to the Boro of Ship Bottom for the Digital Sign as you enter Long Beach Island announcing the KiteFest and Long Beach Township for the Digital Sign announcing KiteFest at Bay View Park.
A Grateful Thank You goes out to All the Phenominal Kiters, the LBI Chamber of Commerce, The Mayors & Towns, ALL the Sponsors, All the Volunteers, All the Restaurants & Stores, All the Police & Public Works, BayView Park, and All the Buses from Long Beach Township and the Bus Drivers who just kept bringing the thousands and thousands of people all weekend. In addition, I want to Thank All the Hotels & Motels and private homeownwers who donated housing for the kiters who came from all around the world.
And a Extra Special Thanks to All the Kite Festival Volunteers who worked over and far beyond the call of duty, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! And if I forgot anyone, Thank You Too for a Great Job!

The First Annual LBI International Kite Festival was held on Columbus Day Weekend Oct. 9 - 12, 2015. For the first year of the Kite Festival we didn't know exacly what to expect and The 4 Day Event Was Phenominal.The Kiters were far better than we thought they would be, and the crowd was far bigger than we thought with thousands of people attending (Please Read My Letter To The Editor Below).

The Kite Festival was Spectacular, Phenomenal, Exciting, Fantastic, Out- standing, Unique, Incredible - mere words just can't possibly describe the 1st Annual LBI International Kite Festival and Thank God for the warm Beautiful Weather. People we coming off the beach saying "This Is The Best Thing That's Ever Happened To Long Beach Island."
I was very fortunate to be a volunteer at the 1st Annual LBI International Kite Festival sponsored by the LBI Chamber of Commerce. The planning for this event started last year and Thankfully The Kiters and The Entire Kite Festival FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS.
Thanks goes out to Lisa Willoughby (A Surf City Resident) who had the vision and expertise for the Kite Festival, plus Thanks to Mary Ann Gutchigian for her tireless work to make the Kite Festival Happen, and her husband Tom who was right there with her. The 3 Mayors involved, Mayor Mancini, Mayor Huelsenbeck, Mayor Larson and their Council Members helped in any way possible, Thanks. Also, the many Kite Festival Volunteers who are too numerous to mention, worked over and far beyond the call of duty, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
